XL, a hybrid vehicle developer, has upgraded its hybrid platform, and Mark Williams gave it a test drive for Pickup Trucks. XL added its hybrid power assist platform to a Ford F-150, resulting in a 25% gain in fuel efficiency on Pickup Truck’s test run. The XL hybrid system does not change the outward appearance of the F-150, and even within the vehicle, “there is no way to know you’re getting hybrid powertrain assistance unless you download the XL app that allows owners to see, in real-time, how much juice is left in the battery pack.”
Williams and his team also tested the storage capacity of the hybrid F-150. Read the full review here.
