VW to launch PHEV Tiguan GTE in 2021

VW will launch a plug-in hybrid version of its Tiguan GTE for the 2021 model year, Car Scoops reports. The vehicle is likely to share technical features with the PHEV version of VW’s Golf, which uses a “1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 150 PS (148 HP / 110 kW), paired to a 114 PS (112 HP / 84 kW) electric motor” with significantly higher total output.

The VW Golf PHEV carries an all-electric range of 37 miles, but the Tiguan PHEV is expected to vary from this range. Read more.
