With the release of its XC40 T5 Twin-Engine hybrid this month, Volvo became “the first in the world to offer a plug-in hybrid version of every vehicle in its lineup,” according to Motor Authority. The vehicle employs a 1.5L 3-cylinder ICE in combination with an electric motor and 7-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. The powertrain has a total system output of 262 hp, and accelerates to 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds.
