Toyota Slashes Price of Prius Plug-In Hybrid

Toyota is bringing back the Prius Prime. The plug-in hybrid will return to the U.S. market this year with a lower price in hopes of better competing with the Chevrolet Volt, Bloomberg reports.

Toyota slashed the starting price ($27,100) by $3,000 to undercut the Chevrolet Volt ($33,170). The Prius Prime can travel 25 miles in all-electric mode, about half the 53-mile capability for the Volt.
