Toyota bets on hybrid dominance for next decade

In a new article for Bloomberg, Kevin Buckland and Nao Sano discuss Toyota’s plans for the next ten years. Through some companies are focusing on electric vehicle development, Toyota has made hybrid cars its priority, even expanding its battery manufacturer’s capacity. The battery-maker, Primearth EV Energy Co., a joint venture owned by Toyota and Panasonic, has set a new goal of 2.5 million battery packs a year produced in Japan by 2021, with an additional 210,000 packs per year made in China by 2020.
