The high-end vehicles range in price from $67,300 for the Volvo to $163,250 for the Porsche Cayenne Turbo SE-Hybrid, the German automaker’s “fastest-ever SUV.”

At more moderate price points, AD recommends plug-ins from Mitsubishi, Chrysler and Mini, with the Mitsubishi Outlander the most affordable at $35,795. For the everyday buyer, the magazine recommends the Toyota Prius Prime, Honda Clarity PHEV, the Subaru Crosstrek PHEV, and the Ford Fusion, with the most affordable vehicle priced at $27,600.
