HybridCars.com reports that auto sales in October were strong in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey and Irma. The sales couldn’t match the impressive sales seen in September, but hybrids, plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles all enjoyed increased sales compared to October 2026.
There were 29,451 hybrids sold in the U.S. in October. Sales are down 14 percent for the month, but remain ahead of last year’s sales.
There were 6,665 plug-in hybrids sold in the U.S. in October. While sales were down 12 percent compared to September, sales are up 30 percent for the year.
There were 6,792 electric vehicles sold in October, a decline of nearly 50 percent compared to last month. For the year, sales are up 25 percent.
