HybridCars.com reports that auto sales in October dropped five percent, while the sale of hybrids and plug-in hybrids saw declines for the third consecutive month.
There were 26,484 hybrids sold in the U.S. in October, a 15% decline over September sales. Sales of the Toyota Prius Liftback dropped 44% for the month, while the Ford Fusion Hybrid enjoyed a 30% bump in sales. For the year, hybrid sales remain 13% behind 2015 figures.
There were 5,943 plug-in hybrids sold in the U.S. in October, slightly down over September sales. Sales remain up 64% for the year.
There were 5,408 electric vehicles sold in October. Sales are up 12% for the year.
