Edmunds has released a new ranking of its top hybrids, and when considering fuel economy as the primary factor, the Hyundai Ioniq came in first at 58 mpg combined. As Edmunds notes, “The Ioniq tops the hybrid field with impressive mpg, but you’ll need the spartan Blue trim level to see those numbers. We’d sacrifice 3 mpg and opt for the SEL trim instead.”
The 2018 Toyota Prius and 2019 Honda Insight came in second and third in the mileage rankings, with 56 and 52 mpg, respectively. Though the Ioniq is a top performer for fuel economy, Edmunds named the Toyota Prius the “hybrid car to beat.” Read more.
