Honda launching hybrid SUV stateside in 2020

Honda will release its CR-V SUV as a hybrid next year, according to a new report by Bengt Halvorsen for Green Car Reports. The vehicle will be produced and sold in the United Sates. Honda will employ its i-MMD hybrid system in the new CR-V, which may give the vehicle up to a 50% increase in its EPA-rated city fuel economy (projected at 45mpg in the city). The vehicle has already launched in Europe “where it’s been well received as Honda’s replacement for diesel.” Read more.
