Crosstrek PHEV to have limited distribution

The new Crosstrek Plug-in Hybrid will hit showrooms this fall, but only in select states. In order to comply with California’s zero-emission vehicle regulations, the hybrid from Subaru will only be sold in the ten states that have implemented the regulations. According to Torque News, the PHEV will be sold in Maryland, but Subaru has yet to officially confirm this.

The Crosstrek PHEV will integrate the hybrid technology from Toyota’s Prius Prime in combination with Subaru’s proprietary boxer engine. The model is expected to have increased fuel efficiency. Read more.
